How To Change The Time And Date On A Tag Heuer Quartz Watch (Screw In Crown)

Firstly, locate the Tag Heuer crown which is on the side of the watch

Tag Heuer Crown Functions, 0,1,2 And 3



Position 0 – The Tag Heuer crown is screwed in

Position 1 – The Tag Heuer crown is unscrewed

Position 2 – The Tag Heuer crown is unscrewed and pulled out one notch

Position 3 – The Tag Heuer crown is unscrewed and pulled out two notches

Changing The Date

To change the date, carefully unscrew the crown and pull it out to position 2 and turn the crown clockwise.  This mode allows you to change the date without any loss of minutes or hours.

Changing The Time

To change the time, carefully unscrew the crown and pull it out to position 3, the crown can be turned in either direction. This mode allows you to change the minutes and hours. In this mode the date changes every other time the hour hand passes midnight.

After setting the date or time, push the crown back in and screw to position 0.

The crown needs to be fully screwed in to guarantee the water resistance of the watch.

    I see there are precautions to take when changing the date in a tagheuer aquaracer watch, ie don’t change the date when the time is in between 8:00-4:00. Are there also precautionary measure to take when changing the time? I havent seen any anywhere. Thank you.

      Thank you for your comment. There are no precautions to be taken when only changing the time. It is advised that you only change the date between 08:00 x 04:00 to prevent causing damage to the movement. If you were to change the date nearer to 12 you could cause damage as the mechanism is starting to engage to change the date.
